It takes barely any effort to crush a clove with that back-and-forth motion, and the pieces stay put instead of flying everywhere. I love that I can just scrape the garlic straight into the pan with a spoon, zero mess on my cutting board. Hand-washing takes a minute but it's worth it.

I was skeptical about another garlic gadget, but the way the crushed pieces collect right in the press and scrape straight into the pan is genuinely cleaner than mincing by hand. The pressure from rocking it back and forth takes barely any effort, and cleanup is just a quick rinse under the tap.
